3 Weeks Pregnant

It's Decided

Congratulations, baby on board! Your egg has now been fertilised.

Since the moment of conception, all of your baby's inherited characteristics are set in their 46 chromosomes - 23 from each parent. These traits include eye colour, hair colour and whether 'It's a boy!' or 'It's a girl!'.

The fertilised egg, or 'zygote', implants itself into the lining of the uterus which causes hormonal changes. One of the effects is that you stop ovulating so you will miss your next period.

Some women begin to feel pregnant soon after fertilisation and can notice a variety of symptoms including; tender breasts and nipples, feeling bloated, needing the loo more often, light bleeding or spotting, metallic taste in your mouth, changes in certain regular tastes like coffee.
