sea sponges

The natural sponge is the most luxurious product in the bath. The natural sponge feels wonderful;
and it is the most absorbant item on the planet. No synthetic sponge can duplicate the natural feeling of sea sponge against your skin or hold the amount of water that a natural sponge can hold.

The natural sponge creates a beautiful lather quickly with every type of soap, both liquid and bar. Natural sponges are wonderful, soothing and soft for baby’s skin.

Organically grown and sustainably harvested from the sea around the the Greek Islands. Beautifully soft natural sponge, expand when wet, ideal for a gentle bath time, suitable for newborn and sensitive skin.

When harvested, all sponges are a dark brown. After undergoing an oxygen bleach process the brown color fades away and a yellow sponge is revealed.

Why organically grown sea sponges?
Sea sponges are more durable and last longer than synthetic sponges because they are more resistant to abrasion. In addition, natural sea sponges are better for bathing and cleaning because they soak up and hold more water without dripping.

Caring for your Sponge
It is advisable to wash natural sponges regularly to deter soap build-up. Follow the cleaning advice here regularly to remove soap build-up.

Rinse the natural sponge under a cold running water. Soak the sponge in a small bowl filled with 2 tablespoons of vinegar to each liter of water.
Leave to soak for 2 hours. Remove from the bowl and shake gently to remove excess liquid. Set out to dry on a clean surface, such as the bathtub.
Use again. The sea sponge should be as good as new.
